Why work at All Star?

A reputation worth protecting

Our Google Business Profile has a 5.0-star rating from 97 reviews. That reputation was built by people who care about doing the job right. When you join our team, you are joining a shop that values quality and honesty.

A local, independent shop

We are not a corporate chain. You work directly with the people who run the shop. Your ideas and your craftsmanship are noticed.

Steady work

Collision repair is essential work. Accidents, scratches, dents and worn paint happen every day. Palm Beach County has a large and growing population with a lot of vehicles on the road, which keeps skilled technicians busy.

Room to grow

Good people should grow. Whether that means learning new repair techniques, earning certifications, moving from prep to paint, or taking on estimating, we support team members who want to advance.

A team environment

A body shop is a team effort. Estimators, body technicians, painters, prep technicians and detailers all depend on each other. We work together, help each other, and share credit for great results.

A convenient location

Our shop is at 825 15th St #7 in Lake Park, near I-95, US-1 and Northlake Boulevard, with easy commutes from North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, West Palm Beach, Jupiter and surrounding areas.

Roles we hire for

We do not always have every position open, but we are always interested in meeting great candidates. Submit your resume and we will keep it on file.

Body technicians repair and replace damaged panels, pull dents, perform plastic repairs, align panels, and prepare vehicles for paint. Strong candidates understand collision repair procedures, can read estimates, and take pride in straight panels and even gaps.

What we look for:

  • Experience with dent repair, panel replacement and plastic repair.
  • Understanding of body lines, panel alignment and fit.
  • Familiarity with welding and modern vehicle materials.
  • Attention to detail and pride in finished work.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.

Automotive painter

Painters prepare, mix and apply automotive refinishes. They match color, blend panels, and produce smooth, durable finishes. See our auto body and paint page to understand the standard we hold.

What we look for:

  • Experience with base coat and clear coat systems.
  • Color matching and blending skills.
  • Knowledge of tri-coat and specialty finishes.
  • Clean, consistent spray technique.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental requirements.

Prep technician

Prep technicians sand, clean, mask and prime surfaces before paint. It is an essential role and a great path toward becoming a painter or body technician.

What we look for:

  • Attention to detail.
  • Careful sanding and masking.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.

Detailer

Detailers clean vehicles before delivery, polish refinished areas, and make sure every car leaves looking its best.

What we look for:

  • Experience with polishing and interior cleaning.
  • Care with customer vehicles.
  • Consistency and pride in presentation.

Estimator

Estimators inspect damage, write repair estimates, communicate with insurance adjusters, and keep customers informed. This role combines technical knowledge with customer service. Read our collision repair page to see how we explain estimates to customers.

What we look for:

  • Experience writing collision estimates.
  • Knowledge of repair procedures and parts.
  • Clear communication with customers and adjusters.
  • Organization and follow-through.

Apprentice or entry-level

If you are new to collision repair and eager to learn, we want to hear from you too. Many great technicians started by sweeping floors, washing cars, and helping with prep. Tell us about yourself, your interest in cars, and any training you have.

What makes a great team member

  • Pride in your work. You care about the result, not just finishing the job.
  • Honesty. You tell the truth about what you see and what you did.
  • Reliability. You show up on time and follow through.
  • Teamwork. You help coworkers and communicate clearly.
  • Curiosity. You want to keep learning as vehicles change.
  • Respect for customers. You treat every vehicle like it belongs to someone you care about.

Training and certifications

The collision repair industry has strong training resources. Organizations like I-CAR offer training on repair procedures, materials, and safety systems. The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) offers certifications in collision repair and refinishing. Many community colleges and technical schools in Florida offer automotive collision programs.

If you have certifications, include them on your resume. If you do not have them yet, tell us about your experience and your interest in growing.

The future of collision repair

Collision repair is changing fast. Here is what today’s technicians work with:

  • Advanced driver assistance systems. Radar, cameras and sensors in bumpers, grilles, mirrors and windshields require careful handling and calibration.
  • New materials. Aluminum, high-strength steels, carbon fiber and composites require specific repair methods.
  • Electric and hybrid vehicles. High-voltage systems require special safety procedures.
  • Advanced paint systems. Waterborne paints, tri-coats and specialty finishes require skill and precision.
  • Digital estimating and documentation. Photos, digital estimates and online communication are now standard.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes information about automotive body and glass repairers, including job duties and training. Skilled technicians are in demand across the country.

Safety in the shop

Safety comes first. Body shops involve tools, equipment, chemicals and paint materials that require proper handling. We follow safety practices and expect every team member to do the same. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) provides safety guidance for auto body and refinishing work, including respiratory protection and hazard communication.

A typical day

Every day is different, but here is a general picture. The day starts with reviewing vehicles in progress and planning the work. Body technicians work on disassembly, repairs and panel alignment. Prep technicians sand and mask. Painters mix colors and spray. Estimators meet customers, inspect new damage and communicate with adjusters. Detailers clean finished vehicles. Throughout the day, the team checks in with each other to keep vehicles moving. At the end of the day, finished vehicles are inspected and prepared for delivery.

Our standards

We hold every repair to a high standard. Panel gaps should be even. Paint should match in color, gloss and texture. Trim should be reinstalled correctly with new clips when needed. The vehicle should be clean. You can see examples of our work in the gallery.

Equal opportunity

All Star Auto Repair considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law. Information about equal employment opportunity is available from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

A career that matters

When someone’s car is damaged, it disrupts their life. They may be stressed, worried about cost, or unsure whether their vehicle will ever look the same. As a collision repair professional, you help solve that problem. You take a damaged vehicle and make it whole again. Customers notice. They thank you, they come back, and they tell their friends. Few jobs offer the same satisfaction of seeing a car roll out looking like nothing ever happened.

What we offer

Compensation and benefits depend on the position and experience. We discuss details during the interview process. We value skilled, reliable people and want them to stay and grow with us.

Growing with the industry

As vehicles evolve, so do the skills required to repair them. We encourage continued learning, whether through industry training, manufacturer resources, or learning from experienced teammates. A technician who keeps learning is a technician with a long, rewarding career.

Career paths in collision repair

One of the best things about collision repair is that there are many ways to grow. Here are some common paths people take in a body shop.

From detailer or porter to prep technician

Many technicians start by cleaning vehicles, moving cars around the lot, and helping with basic tasks. Along the way they learn how the shop works, how vehicles are taken apart, and what quality looks like. Moving into prep is a natural next step.

From prep technician to painter

Prep technicians spend their days sanding, masking and priming. They see what makes a paint job succeed or fail. With training and practice, many prep technicians become painters, learning to mix color, spray base coat and clear coat, and blend panels seamlessly.

From body helper to body technician

Body helpers assist with disassembly, parts handling and simple repairs. Over time they learn dent repair, plastic repair, panel replacement and alignment, eventually taking on complete repairs.

From technician to estimator or manager

Experienced technicians understand repairs better than anyone, which makes them excellent estimators. Some move into production management, overseeing the flow of vehicles through the shop.

Skills that transfer

If you are coming from a related field, your experience may transfer well. Mechanics understand vehicle systems. Detailers understand paint correction and finishing. Fabricators and welders understand metal. Painters from other trades understand surface preparation and spray technique. Tell us what you have done, and we will talk about how it fits.

Learning on the job

A lot of collision repair knowledge is learned by doing, side by side with experienced people. At our shop, newer team members learn from seasoned technicians and painters. Questions are encouraged. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, caught early through careful checks rather than discovered by customers.

What customers expect from our team

Our customers trust us with vehicles they depend on every day. They expect honesty, clear communication and work that looks right. Every team member plays a part in meeting those expectations, from the person who greets customers to the technician who installs the last clip. Our 5.0-star Google rating reflects that teamwork.

Tools and equipment

Modern collision repair uses a wide range of tools: dent pulling systems, plastic welders, sanders, spray guns, measuring equipment, scan tools and more. Specific tool requirements depend on the role, and we discuss them during interviews. What matters most is knowing how to use tools safely and well.

Workplace expectations

  • Arrive on time and ready to work.
  • Follow safety rules, including personal protective equipment.
  • Keep your work area clean and organized.
  • Treat customer vehicles with care, including interiors.
  • Communicate with teammates about progress and problems.
  • Take pride in the finished result.

A note for students

If you are in an automotive collision program at a Florida technical college or high school career academy, we would love to hear from you. Tell us about your program, what you enjoy most, and what you hope to learn. Practical shop experience is one of the best complements to classroom training. CareerSource Palm Beach County also offers resources for job seekers and training opportunities in the area.

Why skilled trades are a smart choice

Skilled trades offer rewarding careers without the years of debt that often come with traditional four-year degrees. Collision repair technicians use their hands and their minds, solve problems every day, and see the results of their work immediately. As vehicles become more complex, demand for well-trained technicians continues. Many experienced technicians find steady work wherever they live, because every community needs body shops.

What we look for in an interview

During an interview, we want to understand how you think about quality, how you work with others, and how you handle challenges. We may ask about a difficult repair you completed, how you handled a mistake, or how you would explain a repair to a customer. For technical roles, we may look at your work or ask you to demonstrate a skill. Be yourself, be honest, and bring your enthusiasm.

Hear it from the shop

What keeps people in this trade is the satisfaction of the finished product. A car arrives crumpled and stressful for its owner. It leaves looking like nothing ever happened, and the owner shakes your hand. That moment never gets old. If that sounds like something you want to be part of, send us your resume today.

Keep in touch

Even if you are not ready to apply today, save our number, (561) 890-7999, and check back. Openings change throughout the year, and we are always glad to meet skilled, motivated people who share our standards.

Thank you for your interest

We appreciate every person who considers building their career with us. Every application is read by our team, and we respond to candidates whose experience matches our current needs. Good luck, and we hope to meet you soon.

We look forward to reviewing your application.
